Pittsburgh Technology Council names BitArmor as the region’s leading IT company

PITTSBURGH, October 20, 2008 — BitArmor™ was granted top honors by the Pittsburgh Technology Council Thursday night, winning the 2008 Tech 50 Award for Information Technology during a ceremony at the Carnegie Music Hall in Pittsburgh. The company’s DataControl™ software, which helps customers protect their most valuable data assets, has driven growth and made BitArmor one of the region’s most-watched technology companies.

Each year, the Tech 50 awards recognize the accomplishments of the region’s most successful technology companies. The Information Technology award was given to BitArmor based on product innovation, revenue growth, and job creation and retention. Other finalists in the Information Technology category included Apangea Learning, Carnegie Learning, Confluence, and Vivisimo. BitArmor was a finalist in the Rising Star category in 2007.
